The Statements of Persons Nominated for the elections to be held on 1 May 2025 have been published by North Northamptonshire Council at https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/north-northamptonshire-council-and-town-and-parish-council-elections/election-notices-1-may-2025.

Loddington Parish Council has 6 nominations for 7 seats.  That means that the council is quorate but has remaining seats to fill by co-option.

Where an insufficient number of candidates is validly nominated at an ordinary local council election to fill the vacancies on the council, those who have been validly nominated are automatically elected as councillors.  Provided that those elected constitute at least a quorum (three or one third of the total number of councillors, whichever is the greater), the council (e.g. those elected unopposed) may co-opt any person or persons to fill the vacancies.  This can only be done after the election, when the new term of office starts.
